Banksia ashbyi Dwarf Form
This smaller form of Banksia ashbyi can 6' high and sometimes wider. The standard form can reach small tree proportions. I grow this species as it has proven to be one of the hardier orange flowered Banksias for inland gardens. It handles temps into the high 90's (f) as well cooler temps during winter. The striking flowers develop during spring and persist for months.
Banksia ashbyi prefers full sun to part shade with better than average drainage. Berms are preferable. Tip pruning isn't necessary as the plant forms a nice shape on its own. Hardy to at least 26f with some minor tip damage.
