Banksia media Dwarf Form
The perfect Banksia for the smaller garden or large planter. Banksia media has been a great performer for inland gardens. Its blooms in late Summer to early Fall in our area which is a nice change from many of the Western Australian Banksia that I grow. This tends to be late Winter and into Spring. The flowers are well presented at the edge of the foliage and are popular with any nectar loving pollinator.
Grow in full sun or with afternoon shade for best results. Well-drained soil is always preferable but I have seen this one do ok in heavier soils too. Expect a mature size of 3-4' high by slightly wider. Pruning isn't generally needed as the plant forms a nice shape on its own. Hardy to at least 26f.
